If you wanted to get in shape, would you delay going to the gym? Put it off because it's just too hard, or you don't have time?
These are the same excuses people use to delay mindset training. But if you want to perform at your best, why delay mental practice?
Each minute you waste not getting started is just more time you're spending not able to operate at your full potential.
Delays in training cost you.
The same way you won’t get stronger thinking about going to the gym, your mental game won’t get better just thinking about your mindset.
You need to systematically identify and then target with real action the areas of your mindset that hold you back.
If you’re not confident, that means finding ways to build your self-belief — usually by seeing yourself succeed.
If you’re not resilient, that means practicing dealing with setbacks and adversity — usually by putting yourself in challenging or unfamiliar situations and coping well.
If you're anxious about your performance, that means practicing under pressure — usually by escalating consequences and deploying tools to self-regulate.
The longer it takes you to get going, the worse these problems become.
What are you waiting for?
